PROFESSIONAL
Jason began his career in the mental health field in 2000. Jason worked for many years as the clinical director of a residential treatment center and has also been a therapist in a wilderness therapy setting. He has expertise in working with individuals who have been labeled treatment resistant or treatment avoidant. Creating relationships and holding space for people who have had significant challenges has been a hallmark of Jason’s clinical experience. He is recognized for his ability to build trust and rapport by being authentic, compassionate, and direct with his clients. In his counseling work, Jason is informed by family systems theory, relationship based therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness practices, and trauma informed therapy. Jason has worked with numerous individuals who have struggled with substance abuse issues, trauma, attachment, learning issues, mood regulation difficulties, and parent-child relational difficulties. Jason is a humble person who likes to discover and develop personal strengths with the clients he serves.
PERSONAL
Jason is a transplant to Utah. Utah has been his home for the last 23 years. Jason loves the outdoors and is happiest when he and his family are on a river or in the mountains. He is a husband, parent to three children, and is highly involved in their personal interests. Jason is an avid fly fisherman and he enjoys making his own flies and teaching people how to fly fish. Jason loves attending football games at the University of Utah, cooking, live music, and hanging out with his family.

Jason enjoys learning about the people he works with and helping them discover their unique strengths. He helps teach people to build off of their existing skill sets, and learn to appreciate their capabilities. Jason views things from a strengths based perspective. Being compassionate, promoting hope, and showing up for people in the midst of significant struggles is what he is passionate about. Jason models authentic and interpersonal relationships skills while exploring what challenges people might have, and supporting them while they search for solutions.
