“I first visited Bridge House several years ago. This is the first case I have had at Bridge House. I was kept fully informed as you went along with treatment. I am completely impressed with how parents were included, and my client was cared for. The psychiatry was far beyond anything anyone else had tried with my client. Suddenly, this intelligent young man appeared, able to make a cogent decision, listen to the advice of others, and understand what issues he still needed to work on. Because of my long history with him, beginning as a pre-teen, I am always wary of transitions, since he tends to spot the negatives first. After serious substance abuse, it seems that his brain is in a kind of recovery as we see the light at the end of the ‘bridge’. Naturally I am going to be watching carefully in his next step. I am enormously grateful for this experience for him.” – Mental Health Referring Professional, May 2024
“We interviewed and chose Bridge House to help our son with his mental health. Our son arrived at Bridge House with an improper diagnosis and we, as parents, were out of options and ideas on how to help him as nothing was working. Options were shrinking. We were searching for a nurturing place for our son where we could get an accurate diagnosis of his mental health. Bridge House provided that for him.
Through their milieu-based assessments, they learned about our son and his mental health by observing how he behaved and interacted in groups and activities, and by how he interacted with others. He had an amazing therapist with whom he bonded with. Due to the trust in this therapeutic relationship, he could speak freely which helped the clinical team gain knowledge and insight on our son.
The extensive testing that was professionally conducted provided us with reports showing not only raw data but also a synopsis of his symptoms and a conclusive diagnosis. The combination of the therapy, thorough diagnosis, and subsequent medication created stability for our son. As parents, this helped us to know and understand our son’s mental health issues.
We were impressed with the final reports we received; which were right on target with the evaluations. Our son has since left Bridge House and is in a transitional home working on his independence and integration back into society.
Bridge House is located in a cozy mountain lodge-like setting with caring and engaged staff. highly qualified The therapists and psychiatrist are highly qualified and are at the top of their game; for those reasons, we feel lucky and very grateful that our son landed there.” – February 2024
“Our son had been in almost continual crisis for 4 years, unable to progress to independence, keep a job for more than a month, or even finish a university class despite his heroic efforts to do so. A serious suicide attempt barred him from returning to a “transition to independence” program, which, along with our therapeutic educational consultant, strongly recommended Bridge House. The hope was to understand why he was unable to progress and to stop his suicidal cycle.
He had a rough start at Bridge House, initially spiraling, being detained by the police, and then in a psychiatric hospital for a few days. Bridge House staff were there for him and with him every moment of every day, actively advocating for him and staying at his side until he returned (quite willingly) to Bridge House to start over. Rachael, Jason, Kiera, and Jeremy– plus so many others there – have worked tirelessly to stabilize, listen, observe, diagnose, treat, and create a clear path forward for him. He now has an incredibly clear diagnosis, which includes how his neurodiverse brain impacts his anxiety and executive function skills, and we know exactly what he needs for his next steps (and why other programs have not worked for him).
This program is expensive, and we have dug into retirement savings to afford it, but we firmly believe this is the best long-term investment we could have ever made for our son: simply put, Bridge House has been life-changing for him.” – January 2024
“I asked for a challenge, and you certainly gave me one. I don’t feel like people properly appreciate the humanness of the program you’ve created here, but I believe that I do. Thank you for caring about people enough to create Bridge House. Despite any rough spots ther might be, it really does help everyone who comes through. Even if that is just to be an example of a place that holds space for them no matter where they are at.
I can’t even count the ways that I’ve felt supported here. The staff that you hire, while awesome, are human, and this place is a growth environment for them as much as it is for residents. My therapist, Anna, really did challenge me and help me, just like you said she would.
There’s plenty more work on everything for me going forward, my own stuff and the family stuff, but I feel as positive as I did decades ago, leaving my first emotional growth boarding school. I won’t forget BH, and I’m sure BH won’t forget me.” – August 2023
“This short-term residential center has supported and helped our daughter in every way possible and then some. We cannot thank them enough. They brought her out of crisis mode and helped her develop coping skills that she actually uses in real-time. They worked on improving her overall health – physically, mentally, and emotionally. Through a team approach that included consulting us and her past doctors, the Bridge House staff was able to figure out a good medicine regimen for her and their diagnostic team was finally able to provide our daughter and us with a complete neuropsychiatric evaluation that finally gave us a diagnosis and a plan that made sense to all of us (and she has had at least 3 before throughout the years). This was all accomplished through a cohesive team approach with care and concern for our daughter’s wellbeing. In addition, their communication with us was wonderful– with weekly meetings with her lead therapist as well as meetings with other involved staff members as needed or as we requested. We highly recommend Bridge House!” – March 2023
“The time I spent at Bridge House can only be described as transformative! I left with a new sense of confidence and excitement to explore life from a refreshed perspective. I’m incredibly grateful for all of the amazing staff members who offered immense support throughout the entire process. The trick is to enter with a strong will to grow- your resiliency will carry you through. My experience at Bridge House was lovely.” – March 2023
“Before my 21-year-old son arrived at Bridge House, he was in a bad way…suicidal ideation, depression, extreme isolation, gaming addiction, lack of purpose, etc. To his credit, he knew he needed help quickly. We embarked together on finding an appropriate place to go, and we jointly decided upon Bridge House due to their experience with other young people in a similar situation. I didn’t fully understand their approach and methodology, but simply surrendered and trusted the universe. What Bridge House was able to do was adeptly help my son develop self-awareness and a set of tools to utilize in the future when he’s feeling depressed. In a therapeutic environment, they were helpful in getting him to see how his traumas and conditioning shaped who he is today. While his self-development is a work in progress, Bridge House got us through the crisis. After about 3 months he was ready to leave, whereupon he graduated to another program (elsewhere) to further sort through his upbringing and heal while focusing on life skills and cultivating a sense of purpose. I’m very grateful to Bridge House for so expertly navigating up through a very challenging time, and I would highly recommend them for families with similar circumstances.” – March 2023
“Our family and extended family have had two very positive experiences at BridgeHouse. Both adult males reached stability quickly and have had positive outcomes. Their care is unique and effective. We are very grateful for the entire team.” – February 2023
“After many years of a revolving door of hospitalizations and programs across the country, our Bridge House experience finally shed some light on a previously undiagnosed underlying condition that may finally help our son move forward in his recovery. Bridge House worked with us in pairing our son with the right therapist and he was one of the most committed, caring therapists we have worked with. He saw the young man behind the symptoms. He was able to forge a bond and never gave up on him. The psychiatrist was insightful, compassionate, and well-informed and we learned a lot from her. Years ago, when our son’s symptoms of serious mental illness emerged, our family was forced to make quick decisions. We tried to understand what was happening and how to get help on our own. Mental health care is complicated. There was never a deep dive into his history, genetic analysis, and biochemistry before; it was all reactive and trying to forge a path somewhat blindly without the benefit of shared information between providers. I wish we knew about Bridge House at the onset of our son’s symptoms as it may have saved us some heartache, mistakes, and reinventing the wheel as we tried to find the right support. Our son deserved this type of comprehensive diagnostic evaluation in this safe, supportive, and beautiful setting. We are most grateful to the Bridge House team for their expertise and support.” – March 2022
“Bridge House kept our son safe while taking their time to assess his condition. After trying several other facilities, he was finally able to understand what ails him and complete the program. I would recommend this place to whoever can afford it! Not cheap but truly worth it.” – April 2022
“The team at Bridge House was amazing. They provided a safe, caring environment and unparalleled testing to fully understand issues and abilities. Thank you, Bridge House!” – August 2022
“Our family was very pleased with the professionalism and care that was given to our daughter. Yes, there were restrictions on one’s personal freedom but that was done for the benefit of the individual and others within the community who faced very serious issues. That being said there was a feeling of inclusiveness and community established among clients. Great weekly reports.” – January 2022
“The Bridge House clinical team is excellent and helped our son move forward on his journey to healing. We highly recommend Bridge House!” – January 2022
“We were really pleased with our daughter’s stay at Bridge House. Rachel Groves did an excellent job working with our daughter as well as reporting to us so that our daughter didn’t have to review her care with us but rather could talk about other things without spending her allotted phone time talking about treatment. We would rate a 5-star.” – January 2022
