Having entered the healthcare field in 1997 as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Tawnie has always had a desire to give back. She served as a Medical Assistant in a pediatric office, and after receiving her nursing license in 2008, Tawnie worked in Home Health and Hospice. There, Tawnie managed patients with medication management, IV therapy, diabetes, wound care, chemotherapy, mental health needs, congestive heart failure, and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Tawnie has always been aware that she is not only providing care, counsel, and comfort to her patients, but to their families and loved ones as well. She is compassionate, kind, and approachable, and believes that Bridge House residents find the nursing office to be a healing space.
Tawnie has a passion for dance and physical activity including yoga, HIIT, ballet barre, Zumba and anything that brings music into the mix. At home she and her husband love to spruce things up with a variety of DIY projects, with the belief that no project is too daunting. Together with her husband, Tawnie is raising three adventurous boys and one beautiful daughter. In her spare time Tawnie dreams of attending a Formula 1 race in Monaco cheering on her favorite team, Ferrari.
HOPE, HEALTH & HEALING
Tawnie has always had a desire to be involved in the well-being of others. As a young child she would watch the nurses care for other children and wanted to do that for others when she grew up. Tawnie believes that within her process of tending to patients, there is an opportunity to provide them with hope in their healing process. Throughout her life and throughout her experience as a caregiver, Tawnie has seen the happiness life can bring as well as the learning and growth that surrounds illness and end of life. Her passion and concern for those she cares for has put her on a journey of healing herself and others. Nursing has become more than just a job for her, it has become a life of understanding and hope.
