Marissa began working in the healthcare field in 2008. She learned while working in healthcare that she had a love for getting to know people. Marissa then went on to work in the mental healthcare field at Bridge House when the facility first opened in 2017. Having been at Bridge House since its founding, Marissa brings expertise in leadership, conflict resolution, and staff management to her role as Director of Operations. Her passion for helping others through her ability to listen and empathize is felt by everyone she interacts with.
While working at Bridge House, Marissa graduated nursing school Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree specializing in mental health. Marissa is a Registered Nurse and assists in the needs of the medical department of Bridge House as needed. Marissa understands the importance of health and all that it entails. Because of this, her practicum research project for her nursing degree focused on self-care and burnout. Marissa takes the time to educate those around her about the importance of self-care and incorporates this in her interactions with others.
Marissa was born in Texas and grew up in Northern California. In her free time, Marissa finds herself researching the latest medical studies, learning how to use computer coding languages, playing video games, hiking, skateboarding, and longboarding.
Hope, Health & Healing
Marissa is a firm believer in the healing that Bridge House provides to those we serve. She is an advocate for those who are not yet at a place in their life where they are able to advocate for themselves. Above all, Marissa believes in a holistic approach to care and feels that everyone deserves to be heard.
