Fernando is a graduate of the University of Utah School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program, specializes in emergency medicine and works at University of Utah Medical Center in the Emergency Department in Salt Lake City. Fernando co-established a Hispanic Access clinic within Green River Medical Center in Green River Utah and currently practices family medicine there in addition to his role at Bridge House. Fernando also received a Master of Public Health degree from Westminster College and was awarded the Public Health Student of the Year award for his work in addressing human trafficking and sexual assault. In addition to his role as Assistant Medical Director at Bridge House, Fernando is an instructor in the Physician Assistant program at the University of Utah, has served on the faculty of Westminster College in the Public Health Program, and has served as a faculty advisor.
Fernando Rivero is originally from Uruguay, South America and is fluent in Spanish. Fernando is very active and enjoys participating in a variety of outdoor activities found in Utah, including skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and adventure camping. When not on outdoor adventures, Fernando loves to travel, cook, and entertain with his spouse. Fernando has also always loved cars and motorcycles and enjoys adventure motorcycle travel.

Fernando has always been a passionate advocate for those under-served in medicine and with limited access to medical services. He is an ardent defender of the underserved, homeless, those with substance use disorders, and those with mental health disorders. Fernando believes in the concept of treating every patient as you would want your mother treated and prides himself on treating all patients with exceptionally kind and compassionate care. Fernando also believes in practicing integrative medicine and seeing mental health wellness as an important root of physical wellness.
